General Motors (GM) through Chevrolet unveiled the new compact hatchback car namely Onix in Sao Paulo Auto Show 2012. This car is ready to compete with the Honda Brio and Nissan March.
"Onix will be very interesting to the markets of the developing citizens such as Brazil. The need for this type of car is quite high, so it's very promising, " said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of General Motors, Dan Akerson, reported by the Detroit News, Monday, Oct 22, 2012.
Onix has similarities with Sonic and Buick Encore--GM's hatchback sold in the United States. Chevy Onix comes with two engine options, i.e., 1.0-litre and 1.4-litre, where both are mated with six speed automatic.
In terms of the look of the exterior looks, this car looks very sporty. The front Grille has a charming design, plus more stylish dashboard display of luxury and elegance, the 7 inch monitor complete with GPS and audio features.
Carlos Barba, Design Executive Director of GM Brazil said, he was trying to create a form of Onix is very interesting. "This car exudes passion to attract buyers," he said. Onix is GM's portfolio to segment small cars in South American countries, and is one of their main products from seven this year.
